Just before the release of the new version, Modify Headers hit One Million Downloads at addons.mozilla.org. Thank you to everyone who has downloaded the addon and uses it regularly for whatever you need. Getting to this milestone spurs me on to continue development of new and improved features.
Version 0.6.8 of Modify Headers has been released at addons.mozilla.org. If you already have the addon installed, Firefox will automatically update.
Changes in this version:
- Refactoring to support Firefox 4
- An Improved preferences window
- Rewritten Export/Import wizard. JSON is now used as the export format. The old XML export format can still be imported for backwards compatibility
- The Open in a new tab preference has been discontinued due to a problem on Macs
Plans for the next version include:
- Drag and Drop re-ordering
- Icons for the preference bar

Hi,
Seems the modify headers window cannot be resized or maximised anymore, this is an issue as our useragent strings for mobile web dev are long and now it’s impossible to view them. Is this by design of a bug in my firefox installation?

Hi James, thanks for taking time to provide feedback. I’m working on understanding how to override the behaviour and allow the window to be maximized. First I’m going to work on restoring the open-as-tab option as I prefer this and am not happy with the standard dialog window.
Please be patient while I work this out and I’ll have an update ready as soon as I can.
James, I believe I’ve managed to work out the problems I couldn’t address in 0.6.8. I’ve uploaded a beta version at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/967/ that reinstates the Open-As-Tab option and also allows the preference window to be resizable. Please test it out and provide feedback.
